The EFEC Transitional Housing Program

The EFEC Men’s Transitional Housing program provides affordable housing for ex-offenders working to obtain permanent housing.  Participants are provided up to 12-months residence in a secure, safe six-unit complex in Southeast Washington, DC.  Eligibility requirements for the program are that prospective participants have stable employment, do not have charges pending before the Court, are Substance Abuse Free,  have completed their stay in a Halfway House or living in a shelter and who agree to follow EFECs Rules and Regulations.  Participants must maintain a savings account.   Participation in the program is dependent upon maintained employment, increased savings and regular voluntary participation in community or other social outreach efforts.  Program entry exemptions may be granted in cases where EFEC board determines that potential participants have a very high likelihood for attaining permanent housing and increasing self-sustainability through program participation.
